“I’m aged under 19 and need contraception and sexual health information and services – where can I access help in Doncaster?”

If you’re aged under 19, a service called Project 3 has been set up to meet most of your contraception and sexual health needs.

However, if you are under 19 and have any of the following problems or symptoms, you may still need to be seen by TriHealth.

You are a sexually active female with any of the following:

*Pain in your lower abdomen (tummy)
*Pain during sex
*Vaginal bleeding in between your periods or after sex

You are a sexually active male with any of the following:

*Pains/swelling/lumps in your testicles (balls)
*Pain/stinging/burning when passing urine
*Discharge from the penis

You are male or female and:

A sexual partner has been diagnosed with gonorrhoea infection
You think you may have been in contact with HIV
You have symptoms around the back passage such as discharge, pain or lumps.
If you are not sure which service you need, you can phone either Project 3 or TriHealth confidentially and we will listen and give advice on the right service for you.

Respect Yourself Doncaster

We are so excited to launch Respect Yourself Doncaster – a relationships and sex education website/app developed for Doncaster young people aged 13 and up.

Evidence suggests that young people can lack the skills and confidence to access sexual health services and perceive a range of barriers to accessing them.

This resource has been designed to engage with young people around issues of relationships and sex, especially the areas that are lacking from contemporary RSE (relationships & sex education) that they receive in school.

Young people want to ask questions and seek opinions – but they don’t want a lecture, and are just as embarrassed and lost as to how to start doing this as their parents are.

Elements of the resource that young people specifically requested were the ‘Sextionary’, the ‘Parents’ section and the opportunity to ask questions and have them answered honestly. (Questions are answered by a Relationships and Sex Education Consultant usually within 48 hours.)
